Whole Child® Curriculum

At Smarter Toddler, our proprietary Whole Child® curriculum integrates activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, physical and language developmental skills. Our programs in music, art, language, dance, movement, science, and life skills aim to meet this objective so that every child may develop at their own individual pace and are given every opportunity to reach their full potential.

Literacy

The early years of a child’s life are the most important period for literacy development.  At Smarter Toddler, children are given the tools they need to develop important literacy skills and most importantly, a love for reading.  Our classrooms are filled with a constantly growing library of books that will spark your child’s imagination, impart knowledge, and inspire the next generation of novelists, poets, and journalists.

Second Languages

Children who are exposed to foreign languages benefit linguistically, culturally and cognitively. At Smarter Toddler, children in our Infant and Young Toddler programs are introduced to American Sign Language. Spanish begins in our 2’s Program, continuing through Pre-K.

Social & Emotional

Social-Emotional development, character development, and life skills are weaved into real-world daily experiences in the classroom where children learn important behavioral and relationship skills.

Physical Development

Children are shown fun ways to practice proper technique for movement, balance and motor skills so that they can develop a life-long love for health and wellness. From yoga, dance, soccer, sports, organized physical play, and daily outdoor time, your child will be active and engaged while having fun.

Cultural Studies

Children learn to understand themselves and their relationships with friends and family. Our cultural studies allow children to learn how they are alike, how they are different and their role within the broader global community. Children are introduced to the culture, traditions, and languages of the world where we hope to provide cultural enrichment and encourage societal contributions.

STEAM

Through our STEAM integrated curriculum (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics),  young scientists and engineers are given the tools they need to observe and investigate the world around them. Young children analyze and communicate their observations through drawing and storytelling, while older children have the opportunity to problem-solve as we study a variety of domains including biology, life sciences, engineering, and physics.

Creative Arts

Led by early childhood specialists in music, visual arts, movement, and dance, children are engaged in immersive, integrated projects that stimulate imagination and creative thinking. Children work with different medias and are introduced to artistic styles and techniques that will help them create their own masterpieces in a variety of artistic domains.

Math

How tall is the Empire State Building? How far away am I from Wall Street? A positive early learning experience in mathematics encourages children to develop reasoning skills while supporting inventiveness, persistence, and problem-solving. Smarter Toddler introduces our youngest learners to early math concepts like understanding quantity, exploring sizes and shapes, and recognizing patterns through engaging hands-on experiences. Older children begin to understand numbers, number relationships, geometry, measurement, and patterns that build a foundation for abstract math concepts.
